1960 Alfa Romeo Spider |

This is the premier Vintage Italian Touring Spyder that you would have found cruising any of the famous streets of Italy, from the Amalfi Coast to the Via Veneto. It is an original 1960 cast iron 2 litre Alfa Romeo 2000 spyder with 5 speed. It has the original black interior, new carpets, and original tool kit in its classic light blue box. I'd say it is a -2 car, it has been maintained regularly and an excellent driver. The 5 speed transmission shifts smoothly and it has the very rare painted wire wheels. All the correct original parts, trim, pieces and mats are there as well as the original tonneau cover and top. It has its rare original radio speaker located on the tranny tunnel. The driver side seat cushion needs to be recovered because some of the seams are starting to separate. If you are looking for an italian classic convertible that you can get in and drive, and is easy to maintain, this is the car. Factory documentation says it was built February 6th 1959 and sold March 3rd to Hoffman Motor Cars in NY. The Original body color was Grey (AR 702). It is impressive in Alfa Romeo Red which is the famous Orange/Red color Alfas are known for. There is evidence of a darker red color below this one. The Alfa Romeo 2000 spyder is the grand touring car of the time. It is larger than its predecessor the Giulia spyder. It is similar in style to the Maserati 3500 Vignale Spyder which was also designed by Carrozzeria Touring. I have owned this car for 10 years and have driven it about 500 miles in that time. It has spent most of its time stored under a car cover.
