DKW is 1 of the 4 Rings of Auto Union, Audi, DKW, Wanderer and Horch. The 4 companies combined during the German depression post WWI to combine their resources.
Only Audi remains, Wanderer Werke was captured by the Soviets during the end of WWII, Horch disappeared, DKW was purchased by Daimler-Benz and the last "Dekes" were sold in the mid 60's.
Rare. Original DKW Junior 750cc. 11,000 original miles! Undoubtedly the lowest mileage, 100% original car, probably in the world! Always stored indoors.
99% complete, includes shop manuals, literature and some extra parts.
Has a small amount of surface rust on the underside from sitting, upper body was painted at the factory with "Appliance Paint", hard as a rock, interior is slightly yellowed but is otherwise is "as new" from factory. Motor has been rebuilt by original dealer, needs a few more parts installed to run.
The car was sold new in 1961. The customer liked it so much, he ordered a new '63 with automatic oiling. On the way to pick up the new car, he excitedly filled the tank in the old car (and forgot to add oil). After work, the dealer planned on driving it home, the motor seized within a block of his shop. It was pushed back into his showroom and sat until I purchased it a few years ago.
The car is almost ready to start, I have added NOS parts as I have found them. The car is 6 Volt and it is difficult at best to find the proper, small battery needed to fit the tray.
Serious inquiries only please! No scammers, I Will Not respond to individuals who want to "send a check along with a flatbed to pick the car up".
The price is somewhat negotiable but I am close to firm, this car is nearly perfect, impossible to replace. There are whole / 100% restored non-original cars available at a lower price if you want a Junior just to drive. This car could easily be made into a show piece, it still smells like new!
Jan 25, 2012 Lowered Price by $4000!
