The Classic Car Gallery is proud to offer this beautiful 1955 Austin Healey 100/4 BN-1. This car received a documented frame off restoration in the early 1990sí, and remains in excellent condition. She was built to the specifications of the early Healey Rally Racers, and is street legal. She was originally purchased and raced in the Northwest Conference sports car races in Western Canada during the 1950sí and 60ís. She was modified over the years, run hard and put away wet. As with many racers past their prime, she disappeared for many years, eventually to be rediscovered in 1972 in an open field in the foothills of Santa Barbara, California. With a series of well-documented owners, she has been restored and given a second chance at life. The body is very straight and solid and had special body treatment to accommodate things like the special side exhaust (stainless steel), louvered hood and special electrical wiring loom. Front and side panel venting along with quick release hood pins were added. She has a gorgeous laydown windscreen The paint is excellent with a few small blemishes as would be expected. The black leather interior is excellent, the dash well painted, carpets good as well as all of the gauges. Her 4-cylinder 2660 CC, NON ORIGINAL engine is specially built with high compression pistons, WESTLAKE HEAD and SU carbs. The engine compartment is as well detailed as is the rest of the car. She has a T-10 5-speed transmission, and shifts with authority. She has a racing fuel cell. The wiring harness is beautiful, and she has a Pertronix ignition. She has painted wire wheels. We have the Heritage Trust Certificate. This is an excellent example of a well-restored early Healey Vintage racer, ready for the street or the track.
