1966 Austin Mini

There are very few original Minis out there ANYWHERE Much less one that is this solid! External door hinges....sliding windows...etc. This is NOT a late model "re-vin" car.

This is a VERY ORIGINAL 1966 Austin Mini 850 with NO rust. Left hand drive. The floors and all of the body seams are original and perfect. It is a documented California car. The last owner had it for 32 years! I registered it here and I do have the original California title in my possession. The car runs and drives great. The black interior looks fantastic and stock but it was replaced a few years ago when the car was in California. The headliner is in nice shape and looks original to me. I did install mesh headlight protectors and grille buttons when I bought the car. The original floor mats are in excellent condition and I even have the correct chrome hubcaps! The only thing that isn't bone stock that I'm aware of is the paint. I believe that the car was white car with a black roof from the factory.... the body was painted a burgundy color a number of years ago. The roof was left black. The paint is very nice.

Since the car had been driven only a few miles each year over the past 32 years....before I started driving it as my around town car....I went through the brake system/replaced a couple of wheel cylinders that had slight leaks...had the generator rebuilt... and replaced the original rear quarter window rubber seals. I also installed a LED "high brake" light inside the back window without modifying the car in any way. It can easily be removed. The odometer is showing 67,558 miles but I have no way of verifying that. The speedo cable is not working but I have a new one to install. I was told that the clutch/throw-out bearing etc. was done about 500 miles ago and that the motor was completely gone through [with a "big bore" kit installed] at the same time. So....from what I have been told....although the engine looks as it did from the factory....this means that it now has a 998cc displacement. It really does run very strong and you don't have to pedal up the hills!
