We are excited to offer on behalf of one of our clients this outstanding 1975 BMW CSL Race car.

For many years, 2shores has been offering selected, finest grade examples of collectible automobiles. This BMW Touring race car is one of those examples!

The CSL BMW is a legend in Germany, Europe and beyond.
The 3.5 CSL was built for Group 5 racing and BMW won three races in the 1976 World Championship for Makes with this model.

The CSL competed in Group 2 form in the European Touring Car Championship, with CSL drivers winning the Drivers title six times in the years 1973 and 1975 to 1979. The CSL also competed in Group 5 Special Production guise, winning three rounds of the 1976 World Championship for Makes. In FIA Group 4 spec, notably when driven by Hans-Joachim Stuck, they competed against racing versions of the Porsche 911 and Ford Capri with some success.

Our car on offer has been constructed to be an exact replica of a 1975 CSL Group 4 car and started life as a 1972 BMW 3.0 CS.

The build of this car took over 6 years and can only be described as passionate, accurate and detailed to the highest degree. The result is nothing short of stunning. If you were time traveling back to 1975 and ask the BMW factory to build their latest touring race car, this would be the result! Except of course for the S38 type engine, bored and honed 0.5 mm over standard bore. The crank shaft is a custom steel billet designed off the BMW S38 B38 crank with the stroke increased from 90 to 94 mm. Custom steel billet connecting rods, custom forged high silicone pistons with 12.5:1 compression ratio. The output is very close to 500hp delivered to the Getrag 265 / 5 close ratio 5 speed tranny.

To list all specifications and modifications would be too much for this advertisement, but a detailed spec list is available on request.

The body was constructed with greatest precision and originality in mind, down to a lightweight replica of the original vinyl door panels. It is in pristine condition with no visible damages and beautiful color.

This car is highly competitive and ready to roll vintage race car with just about 6hrs on the drivetrain. It has never been raced! A beautiful movie about the built process, the owner and his motivation can be seen here.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f2DRCPEQtos

A truly excellent example of a very competitive and legendary race car for the most discerning enthusiast. These cars do not come to market often, let alone in this build quality and condition.

Please study all the photos closely to evaluate the condition of this car!
