1971 Buick GS 455 Stage 1 $39,500 OBO Dunlap, TN

The 1971 Buick 455 Stage 1 in color code T, bittersweet mist, is an exceptionally rare car with only 81 convertibles made in a color used for only year. Based on information and belief, it is thought to be that this car is a true 455 Stage 1- however, due to a Buick strike in 1971, Buick records are supposedly the most poorly documented during this time more so than of any other years with only one piece of paper, a build sheet, for verification. The VIN # gives only limited information.

Buick didn't invent luxury muscle cars, but they certainly came close to perfecting it with a unique blend of high performance, trimmed with luxury features. Even though the words flawless and perfection cannot be applied to anything man made this car would almost fool you into believing it. This is certainly what one would call a show car or a museum quality car.

The body work is first rate, paint is exceptional, and the gaps are better than original. The car was restored with attention to detail and with factory correctness in mind, even down to the correct trunk mat, spare tire cover and the floor mats.

The interior looks like that of a brand new car. The bucket seats and door panels are either new or, if original, look new. The convertible top is new. The console with its wood grain trim sports the most unique automatic shifter ever and is the high light of the interior, along with the wood grain dash with factory tach and gauges.

The engine compartment is original with the correct dual snorkel air cleaner, fed by the two air intakes in the hood. The 455 has an awesome sound and runs very strong. Listen to it on our video. The turbo 400 transmission shifts smooth and crisp. Everything looks restored to new condition even underneath the car.
