This survivor 1970 Buick GSX is a factory produced 455,4 speed car; a combination that makes it an extremely low production number car. There were only 678 1970 Buick GSX’s produced. This vehicle’s factory assembled combination of GSX, 455 cubic inch engine, and 4 speed transmission make it one of only 81 produced. The addition of Stage One options makes that number only 118 produced.

The Buick 455 cubic inch engine produced the highest torque at the lowest rpm of any American made muscle car until Viper surpassed it in 2003. The Buick produced 510 ft lbs of torque at 2800 rpm. The Chrysler 426 Hemi produced 490 ft lbs at 4000 rpm. Buicks enormous torque is what propelled the GSX to such quick 0-60 mph and ¼ mile times making it one of the top muscle cars of its time. Motor trend commented it was the fastest muscle car they ever tested after obtaining a quarter mile time of 13.38 seconds at 105 mph. Muscle Car Review magazine listed it as the third fastest muscle car of the era, bested only by the 427 tri-power Corvette and the 427 Cobra.

We’ve owned this car since 1996. The restoration was completed by Wisconsin’s Dave Kleiner of Potosi, WI. It was authenticated as a factory produced GSX, 455, 4 speed car and it has the Stage One optional higher horsepower package. In addition, we have the documentation to authenticate this vehicle. The car has neck snapping acceleration combined with Buicks reputable ride.

A recent concourse level ’70 Buick GSX Stage I 4 Speed auctioned at the January 2015 Mecum Auction in Kissimmee, FL sold for an even $200,000. It too was a Dave Kleiner restoration. A more recent Then and Now restored, low mileage 1970 GSX sold for $170,000 at the Mecum Indy Auction.

We are looking for a serious buyer who knows and appreciates the rarity and performance qualities of the 1970 Buick GSX. Recent appraisals came in around $89,000. We are looking for offers. All reasonable offers will be considered.
