This 1956 Chevrolet 150 2 Door Post is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. Tri-Five Chevy�s have stood the test of time that all car enthusiasts can appreciate. From movies like American Graffiti to Two Lane Black Top these cars were the scene stealers. This 150 2 Door Post is an older restoration that has been tastefully done and still looks good today. The steel body is all original with only New Old Stock Fender s being used during the restoration. The rust free body was then painted a beautiful two tone Gray and Burgundy combination. A quick look under the car will show a nicely detailed frame, floor pans, brake lines and suspension components that just shows how complete the restoration is. Under the hood is a well dressed 327 CID V8 engine. A dual quad carburetor setup insures plenty of fuel is fed the high winding 327. The distributor has been upgraded with a Mallory breakerless electronic kit to insure the gases entering this healthy 327 V8 are efficiently ignited .The 327 also sports polished finned aluminum valve covers for the classic hot rod look of the 50�s. The inner fenders, core support and splash pan have been powdered coated gloss black to keep a clean and durable look for years to come. A stainless steel dual exhaust system gets rid of the spent gases and sounds good doing it. Keeping the engine cool is an aluminum radiator with a Corvette overflow tank that is both practical and tasteful. Backing the 327 V8 is a Muncie close ratio 4-speed manual transmission. This transmission has been upgraded with a Gear Vendors Overdrive unit (http://www.gearvendors.com/) which allows this shoebox to run a deeper rear end (4.11 to be exact) gear ratio in the posi track rear end, but still cruise the highway at lower rpm�s. The overdrive is electronically controlled with a button on the side of the Hurst shifter. This �56 Chevrolet goes pretty quick, so disc brakes, front/rear sway bars, shock bar and traction bars have been added to keep this car stable during acceleration and hard stops. Inside this Chevy Shoe Box, the interior is just as nice as the rest of the car. The seats are covered in combination of vinyl and cloth. The two tone colors of burgundy and gray match the exterior paint scheme very well. An extra set of gauges have been mounted under the dash to monitor water temp, oil pressure and voltage. A chrome 50�s style Sun tachometer sits atop the steering column to keep an eye on the engine rpm�s while shifting aggressively through the gears. In case you get tired of listening to the sweet sound of the engine, there is a nice AM/FM/CD player for musical diversion.
