This 1965 Chevrolet C10 Fleetside Shortbed is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. The C/K line was Chevrolet and GMC's full size pickup truck line from 1960 to 1999. After 39 years the line was replace by the Silverado line up but the C/K's are still highly sought after and make great platforms for some of the nicest looking hot rods today. This particular 65 has been completely built from the ground up with no expense spared during the process. The truck was taken completely off the frame and stripped down starting with just a shell. The frame was painted to match the rest of the components and gives the underneath a very finished look. The body was then painted with a red that is very similar to the rally red of that era. The chrome on the truck is in impeccable condition with no signs of pitting anywhere. Pop open the red hood and you will see one of the nicest engine bays I have seen. The block decodes to be a 1970 LS4 which is a great platform to start with. Bored .030 over just to make sure everything was nice and fresh. Once the block was ready a steel crank was used on the bottom end while the decision was made to go with roller rockers and solid lifters up top. With the Edelbrock dual quads feeding this monster just the right amount of fuel the Flame thrower II under dash coil gives it just the right spark. Exhaust gases are spent through the custom wrapped headers, and then out the Flowmaster mufflers giving it that great sound. With all of that power under the hood the transmission was the next piece to be addressed. The decision was made to go with an overdrive set up so you can actually drive this beauty down the highway. One of the best known transmissions in the industry was sourced and the TCI street fighter was installed. Turning the 12 Bolt rear end with a 3.73 gear set this Big Block Truck will be sure to get down the road. The interior has its custom cues as well from the black and red interior, to the custom B&M shifter holder which ties it all together.
