1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z-11 RS SS |
Stk. 1183 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z-11 RS SS
Finding a true 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Indy Pace Car in superior condition is like hitting the lottery. To find one powered by such a unique motor is even better. At the Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach Collector Car Event in March of 2006, s small block Chevy 383 stroker motor was auctioned off with proceeds going to the Darrel Gwynn Foundation. That motor was purchased at the auction and placed in this Z-11 RS SS convertible. Turning out upwards of 450 horsepower, the stroker contains parts from some of the most respected companies across the nation. Specialized parts include: an Eagle crankshaft, Federal-Mogul pistons, Edelbrock roller camshaft cylinder heads, a 800 cfm carburetor, a Mir Gap polished intake manifold, MDS distributor, Zoops serpentine belt system with alternator, power steering pump and air conditioning compressor. Added icing to the cake is that the 350 ci engine that came in the car from the factory goes along to the buyer. All of the 3,675 pace cars produced by General Motors were the same pertaining to the exterior and interior - Dove White with Hugger Orange stripes and orange vinyl with orange houndstooth seats. The quality of the frame off restoration on this vehicle (No. 3,410) brings to mind the way they looked circling the famed "Brickyard" in 1969. A close look should be taken at this piece of motoring history. Call 800-650-1055 or visit our website at www.autobarnclassiccars.com |
