For sale in our Chicago showroom is a very original 1968 Chevrolet Camaro RS. The Camaro was introduced to combat against the Ford Mustang for an entry-level coupe. The 1968 model, as the second year of production brought few subtle changes to the overall styling of the car. This car is powered by a 327 CID V8 factory rated at an estimate 210 horsepower. The original Powerglide transmission still shifts through the gears and gets this classic American icon rolling. The entire car has been gone through over the years, including new paint and chrome in 2005 and having the entire front end suspension rebuilt in 2012. With all this work the car starts up easily, has great steering feedback, and stops on a dime.This example has only traveled 62,560 miles since new, and it shows. The car has always been well cared for, and looks great, given its age. The slightly larger rear tires add to a more aggressive “raked” look without going overboard.
