History:

Our 1969 SS 396 Chevelle Convertible has been with us for nearly 9 years. It was purchased from South West Missouri where it was rarely driven. The top had been used only about 2 times by the previous owner who had the car for approximately 12 years prior to us. The story we received was that it was bought from the original owner in New Mexico.

Over the past 9 years we have rarely driven the Chevelle Convertible with the occasional shorter distance casual drives. In early 2000, we shipped this 1969 Chevelle to Northern Idaho where it now resides. We have constantly had people stop to see if they can buy the car since the day we got it. It is a real treasure to own the car. An amazing attention getter!

Price: $37,900 U.S funds only! No Trades. Mastercard or Visa possible. We don't have the build sheet, still looking! We have had serveral people in the past look the car over and confirm that it is definately an ss car.

Why Is It For Sale?

We have decided to put this 1969 Chevelle Convertible Super Sport up for sale for a potential business expansion at our furnishings & decor retail store. It is not a have to sell but rather a consideration to exchange our asset to business rather than pleasure. This is our dream car and not an easy one to depart with. We reserve the right to decline selling the car to any individual as well as take the car off the market at any time. If our business opportunity changes and the car has not been sold we will not be selling the car.

Engine:

Original coded service block. Original coded heads, intake and exhaust manifolds. I am not sure of the history here but I don't believe it has been rebuilt. Original turbo 400 coded and fully rebuilt with low miles. Older dual exhaust which sounds nice. Has the rectangular exhaust tips.

Body:

Original color is a beautiful Fathom Green (darker green), which is also the current color. Most 1969 Super Sports had the option of the white side stripe which would look great on this car. It has the 14" Super Sport wheels with beauty rings and caps. Tires are BF- Goodrich with two of them needing to be replaced.. SS hood as standard Super Sport option.

Body Condition very solid with very, very little rust. We searched for over 2 years for a car that was solid and this one was by far the best. The trunk is mostly solid with a few smaller areas that are rusted through. Fenders, doors, rockers, inner wheel wells, trunk lid, hood and floor boards are in excellent condition. The floor boards under the rear seat are solid with one small area near a drain hole having very minimal rot. Easy repair.

The quarter panels will need replacements. The front halves are solid but the rear section and around the lip are in need of replacement. It had been repaired on the rear section which appears to be from a long time ago. Again the inner wells are like original.

Paint needs to be redone. Overall a restorer will be saving a ton of time and effort by the solidness of the car.

Chrome is older and will need to be redone. It will need new emblems and right grill extentions. The grill is nice but will need replacement. The glass is all in great shape.

Interior:

Parchment white color code with white vynal top. Top is shot but enough there for new installation guidence. Convertible top frame needs to be painted but is in terrific shape. Power top with dash mount switch. Power lines are not installed but have brand new heavy duty lines for it. Tilt steering. No Tachometer. Has shoehorn shifter with console. Older interior needs full replacement. Changed carpet 9 years ago and is in great shape but slightly faded in some areas. Bucket seats with headrest.

Rear left window needs a new plastic guide roller. Not sure where to get them. Dash is in fine shape.

Negotiable Options:

Additional options not included with price are: left and right quarter skins, heavy duty front sway bar, big block roller rockers, extra set of new beauty rings and caps, extra set of 4 ss wheels, rear trunk weather stripping.
