The Chevy Malibu was a top-line subseries of the mid-sized Chevelle, and this 1966 classic is a top-line restoration worthy of a close inspection. This black over red beauty has been totally restored in the last few years and great care is evident in all aspects of workmanship, materials and finishing details. The sleek styling introduced this model year with sail panels and tunneled rear windows, accented by the stock Mag style wheel covers and dual exhaust gave it a unique muscle car appearance that has been copied many times since. The completely restored motor compartment houses what was considered one of the best engines Chevy produced in the 1960s, a professionally rebuilt 327 CID L-79 350hp small block engine with less than 100 miles and matching L79 exhaust system. Rebuilt in the same manner is the Muncie 4 speed manual transmission with floor mounted shifter putting muscle to the 3:08 rear end.
