Up for sale, and proudly presented by Blue Marlin Motors USA of Stuart, is a professionally built and restored 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454. If you’re looking for a fully restored muscle car that will turn heads wherever it goes, THIS is the car for you.
The car has been built as a pro-touring street car, with the modern driver in mind. The classic 1971 Chevelle body has been wrapped around a chassis containing a modernized drivetrain, suspension setup, and braking components, as well as all the modern interior conveniences you could ask for. The restoration on this car took two years to complete, and you’d be hard-pressed to replicate the results for less than $100,000. The result is a car that you can take to shows and win trophies, take to the strip and set fast times, or even take to the road course and enjoy pushing to its limit. You name it, this car an do it.
This car is a true 1971 Chevelle SS 454, of which fewer than 19,000 were built in 1971. Rarer still is the LS-5 454 cubic inch engine and factory air conditioning, as this car was optioned. After being daily driven when it was new, this car spent much of the 1980s and 1990s as a drag racer before being placed into storage. More recently, this rust-free example was rescued and turned into the pro touring build you see for sale today.
Originally, this car, VIN 13637R183556 came with the following options:

Today, it has a period correct pro built 454 big block Chevrolet V8 that’s been bored .030 over to 468 cubic inches. The engine produces approximately 450 horsepower, and well over 500 ft.-lbs. of torque, breathing through a full 2.5” stainless exhaust system and getting power to the ground through a built turbo 400 automatic and GM 12 bolt posi with 3.73 gears. A Hotchkiss suspension kit featuring tubular front upper and lower A arms and adjustable rear trailing arms, Eibach springs, a quick ratio steering box, polyurethane bushings, and slotted and drilled 4 wheel disc brakes ensure that no matter what you throw at this car, it will handle it – literally and figuratively. The paint is Inferno Orange Metallic, a color from a 2012 Camaro, and has six coats of clear protecting it and the black SS stripes. The body was professionally painted without bondo, and had many new parts, including a new rear bumper, a new correct grain black vinyl top, new weather stripping, new emblems, lenses, handles, lock cylinders, hinges, and more. No detail was overlooked when this car was built, and it shows.
On the inside, the interior was completely covered in Dynamat sound deadening. The carpet, dash pad, gauge housing, headliner, door panels, visors, and seat upholstery is all new. There’s a Vintage Air AC system with electronic controls and all new duct work, and a factory style AM/FM stereo with an iPod input and NOS factory knobs, powering Kicker kick panel and rear deck speakers. The instruments are Dakota Digital VHX carbon fiber electronic gauges with orange back lighting.
Quite simply, you will not be disappointed by this car. It was built to the highest standard and designed to be enjoyed and driven. With approximately 500 miles on the build since its completion, it’s got DECADES of reliable service left to give. Will you be the one?
