This 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Tribute is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. 1969 was a great year for the muscle car world in general. Manufacturers were going bigger and badder than ever with hopped up 400+HP big block motors were common place. Chevy had the potent 427 which was introduced to production in Mid 65 after cleaning everyone's clock at the Daytona 500 in 63. The Chevelle offered the 427 and was an instant success with the 69 becoming even more popular the last couple of years. This 69 has been treated to a complete restoration with many things going back to its former glory. The body itself was in good shape retaining all of its original sheet metal. This gave room in the budget for the removal of the vinyl top and all of the smoothing out of the roof that goes with it. With everything stripped down the original glacier blue paint was laid down and looks amazing on this beauty. The power-plant was next with an original 69 block sourced it was taken to a machine shop for a little work. After being bored and .030 over decked it was ready to have the forged crank installed with a fresh set of pistons. The comp cam gives this beast a healthy lope at idle and really comes to life after 3000 RPM. The 049 heads have been ported and polished giving it even more torque down low. A Holley 750 sits on top feeding this 450+ HP motor beast just the right amount of fuel. With all of that power it was a must to go with the 12 bolt posi unit. The TH400 is not just your run of the mill unit either. Packed up with goodies like a B&M shift kit and a 2000 stall it complements the motor nicely and while being capable of laying rubber down at will. The interior is all 69 SS from the black vinyl buckets to the Horse shoe shifter mounted in the center console it is period correct in every sense of the word.
