Under the rear hood of this 64' Corvair is the original numbers matching 164 CID Flat 6 cylinder engine which produces 110 horsepower, and is matched to the original 4-speed manual transmission. Options for this 1964 Chevrolet Corvair convertible include: AM Radio, Manual Convertible Top, Hub Caps, Seat Belts, Vinyl Interior, and White Wall Radial Tires. The odometer reads 71,155 and is believed to be actual miles to the car. The 1964 Chevrolet Corvair saw many improvements, though none were made in the styling department. The suspension was improved by adding a transverse leaf spring to the swing axle suspension, and a softer rear coil spring was added as well. This reduced rear roll stiffness and allowed for more neutral handling characteristics. Braking was improved as a result of the drums growing fins to promote airflow and reduce heat inside the drum. The engine compartment was beefed up from the 145 CID Flat 6 to the 164 CID Flat 6 by increasing the stroke, and horsepower increase to from 95 to 110 horsepower in the high performance engines. This 64' Corvair convertible is finished is the stunning Lagoon Aqua exterior paint, and is perfectly accented by the white vinyl convertible top. The blue vinyl interior was replaced in 2010 and looks great. A pretty cool console rests just to the right of the 4-speed shifter and comes in awfully handy. Two sets of hub caps come with this Corvair, the Monza caps, and the wire Chevrolet caps. Either way the white wall radial tires help promote a classic look for this Corvair. With this color combination, this 64' Corvair looks great with the top up or down.
