This 2006 Corvette convertible is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. New for 2005 was the C6 and it was a better Corvette in every way shape and form. From the performance to the fit and finish this Corvette was able to take on its European counterparts head on and in many cases come out on top for a fraction of the cost. This black beauty has the revolutionary 6.0 LS2 which turns out an astonishing 400 HP and 400 lb.-ft of torque at the time this was the largest and strongest small block ever offered in a Corvette. With the motor putting out the massive power a revised transmission was used, the 4l65e. Not only was it stronger but it also had GM's advanced algorithm shifting, which automatically selects the optimal gear for the given condition. Add to that a paddle shifter like you would see in an F1 car and a combined average fuel economy of almost 23 MPG and this Corvette is true daily driver race car. Slide your hand behind the hidden door handle and the electronically operated release opens the door. Jump in the driver seat that is adorned with plush leather and a side airbag just in case the unfortunate happens. Peering through the steering wheel is a full set of gauges and a driver information center that sells you anything from the temp to the miles to empty. Those gauges however will probably never get used when you notice the HUD or heads up display. This is the same technology that fighter pilots use except in this case, depending on your option, a hologram is displayed in your line of vision. No more looking down at the speedometer when you see the boys in blue. Not only will it show speed but it also has a built in accelerometer which will give you an accurate G force reading. The color matched body molding in the middle is a great design queue but the best part about this C6 is the powered top. That’s right flick the button on this Vette and the back hatch flips open while the top folds up and in it goes. Unlike many other convertible's even with the top down you still have trunk space. Just another way that Corvette has designed a real world daily driver that can be ran on the track Sunday and drove to work on Monday.
