This 1968 Chevrolet Corvette Sportwagon Ecklers conversion is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. The 1968 Corvette arrived on the market as the next great car. Its curvy styling and uncomprimising body lines made the car appear bigger than life. Ofcourse though once people bought the car and the new had worn off everyone had the same complaint, there's no storage room. You know they were right even though the rear appeared to have ton of room it was unusable and as for a trunk well there wasn't one. Needless to say in 68 one of the biggest aftermarket manufacturers of Corvette parts came up with a solution, cut off the rear glass section of your new Corvette and fiberglass on this piece turning your 68 Vette into a full on wagon. as you can imagine there was not a lot of kits sold well correction there was not a lot of kits installed and finished. Basically once people got the kits they would A not have the guts to cut up there Vette or B cut it up and not be able to get the kit to fit right. Either way there are few of these left today and with kits no longer available they are sure to go up in value. This 68 has the coveted glassless kit with just a rear piece to see out of. The front has had the headlights placed actually inside the grill and the front nose smoothed over giving the car a very slick look. The red paint looks that much nicer especially next to the The 350 under the hood is GM replacement motor and appears to be roughly 10 years old. The interior was completely customized with the bucket seats covered in a type of crush material. The door panels have been done with the same material and all in all the interior flows nicely. The back has been covered with a carpet from top to bottom and goes well with the rest of the car.
