1964 Chevrolet Corvette |
1964 Corvette Coupe
This is a nice solid 45,000 original mile coupe. It has also been garaged all of its life but has been in storage for 27 years in total (17 years then 10 years). It has a rust free frame and chassis components. The interior is clean and in excellent condition and looks 100% original. It has been in storage for many years. It has an NOM# LT-1 corvette engine with its original 4spd. The motor has 1967 Vette 350 HP heads (3917291-2) that are also used on the 302 Z-28 engines of 67/68. It has a 1966/67 Corvette intake (3872783) that can take both Holley and Carter carbs. It is a solid lifter engine with high compression and that characteristic clackity clack of a solid lifter engine. It also revs quickly too. After a ten year nap it started right up. It has since had a brand new Holley 750 Carb installed, all new fluids and a lash adjustment. THIS CAR SCREAMS! It has power brakes and quick ratio manual steering. I have never driven a more pleasant manual steering car. It also has a nice set of real knock off wheels. The body is clean and straight and wearing nice 15 year old Daytona Blue paint with a dark blue interior. It is so dark it almost looks black. Back 20 years ago when these things were common, a 1967 427 hood was installed along with the 1967 lower side vents in the fenders. The hood alone is now worth over $1,250. With the exception of the real reverse light the car looks like a 1967 coupe. Returning the car to original would only require a flat stock hood and the replacement of the lower vent portions of the fenders. Other than that there are no body modifications and it has never been flared. Looking over the car in person you can see many new parts were installed just before it was put into storage. All four bumpers look new and still have their GM stickers inside of them. The tailights, bezels, exhaust rings, door handles, and many other parts were replaced with NOS GM parts when it was painted. The bushings all look new on the suspension and even the fasteners on the exhaust system still look new although the tailpipe has some surface rust. It has all of its original aircraft style gauges, factory shifter, rosewood steering wheel, flip headlights, and all other factory equipment including its original aircleaner that is bot on the car. All of the dash chrome and gauge bezels are not pitted as would be expected on a 45K original mile car. This car has not been butchered, painted a million times, color changed, bondoed to death, beat up, wrecked or anything else. The panel fit and door fit is excellent. The underside of this car looks like a 10 year old car. If you are looking for a clean Vette coupe that does not break the bank but might snap your neck upon acceleration, then this is the car for you. $27,500 OBO netincom@ameritech.net
