1951 CHEVROLET DELUXE CONVERTIBLE "...see the USA in your Chevrolet"- Dinah Shore 1951

This is a beautiful example of Chevrolet's completely redesigned post war vehicle lineup by GM's legendary chief stylist Harley Earl. Aside from a new dash and a few trim updates, the 1951 models received very few design changes simply because they were not needed, the Deluxe had already reached the epitome of 1950's style. Featuring the reliable and powerful 235 Cubic inch 6 cylinder motor, versions of these engines powered a good portion of all Chevy's from 1929 all the way up until 1990 when it was finally phased out. The 105 horsepower rated Inline motor is mounted to the sought after Powerglide 2 speed automatic transmission that introduced "clutch less" driving to the general public, coupled with a 3.55:1 geared differential. The immaculate convertible top proudly protects an all original interior that features a stunning gray and maroon leather in a two tone style. A modern paint job was added to the exterior many years back and has a couple of chips and flaws. All of the stainless steel and chrome trim parts that set these cars apart from the rest are in great condition. A factory installed Continental Kit adorns the rear and contains a spare tire. The Straight Six motor starts up quietly and runs well(Video Provided) and the Powerglide shifts flawlessly. A well maintained suspension soaks up the bumps better than some of the newer vehicles on the road today. This 51' Deluxe was purchased in Carmel California from Denny LeVett co-owner of the Cypress Inn with Doris Day. LeVett had enjoyed the vehicle for a number of years and drove it on a regular basis until finally offering it to the current owner with 74,041 miles on the odometer.
