The Impala is a full size sedan built by Chevrolet and introduced for the 1958 model year. Introduced in 1961, the 3rd generation Impala (61-64) was restyled on the GM B platform for the first time. For 1964, the Impala was slightly restyled, reverting to a more rounded, softer look. The Super Sport (SS) badge, which signified performance, was first introduced in 1960. In 61 it was more than an appearance package and both suspension and engine upgrades were required. The SS package was a regular production option through 63. 1964 was the first year that the SS was no longer a package and was its own separate model with its own VIN prefix. This particular example was optioned with Daytona Blue paint, a Blue interior, power steering, power brakes and 327 V8. Currently it shows 62,348 miles on the odometer. In 2007 it was fitted with a fuel injected 305 ci V8 from a 1988 IROC-Z. The engine had just over 60,000 miles when it was removed and the Impala had just over 50,000 on the odometer when it was installed. It retains its original T350 transmission and 10 bolt posi rear end both of which were freshened up when the engine was installed. It has a dual performance exhaust system that makes this car sound like a V8 should. Within the last couple of years it has received an all new wire harness, a new aluminum radiator, a new power steering box as well as a new stereo which was mounted in the glove box and includes a sub and an amp in the trunk. At the same time it also received new set of Firehawk tires that looks awesome with its new chrome Cragar rims. This classic cruiser is in perfect working order and is in need of nothing but a new home. We have priced this beauty to move so if you’d like that new home to be yours you better pick up the phone before someone beats you to it! SOLD
