1966 Chevrolet Impala |
This car is a 1966 Chevy impala four door hard top. It is in great condition. Roughly 95% restored. In the last three years it has received a new Porsche red (think brighter fire engine red) paint, a matching two toned custom red and white vinyl interior (fully custom interior includes ultra premium vinyl commonly used on luxury ships, feels like leather but much stronger and stain resistant, with matched custom carpet, headliner, valence tray, and custom dash-pad).
New engine, 350 CI professionally built with new shaved vortec heads, 10:1 compression pistons, new eldebrock carb, new eldebrock performer cam and lifters, new eldebrock performer intake, K&N air-filter,fuel filer, bored 40 over, new hedman hedders, and true dual 3 inch pipes with 50 series flow masters. It has a new turbo 350 transmission, new brake cylinders (all wheels), and master cylinder. New MOAB polyurethane front bushings and shocks. Equipped with air ride adjustable shocks in the rear. Adjustment valve hidden in trunk. Trunk is also equipped with custom made surround for sound system (wrapped in white vinyl that makes the interior) as well as matching carpet.
Car has new barley used 1100 continuous 4000 watt peak stereo system composed of JVC color display head unit, 10 disc changer, sirius sat radio (with all components including ant included), 2 hidden 3.5" autobahns, two 5" sony explode 3 way speakers color matched to the carpet and trim, two 6x9 sony explode 4 way speakers color matched, 2 sony explode 10 inch subs in a custom enclosure mounted and wrapped in the trunk. Behind the box in a hidden area of the trunk is a rack containing a 1.5 Farad capacitor, and two amps, one 1000 (might be only 800) watt to subs and one for the interior speakers (think its 650). Also the cigarette lighter up front was converted to hide the gain control know for the subs.
Car is being sold as is. It currently has a few issues. First off it runs just fine the motor is strong and the carb doesn't need to be adjusted it idles smooth even on cold morning starts. There is an electrical issue that is causing a power drain. Could be as simple as a battery swap it is possibly the custom built amp (160 amp max,80 amps at idle) could be the cause or it could be a fuse in one of the subs. Additionally, the horn is inop at this time.
I'm not sure and will be out of town for a while so I can't check. It also appears that there was a trunk leak last summer when I had it stored and the carpet in the trunk needs to be replace. The number to the guy who custom made most of the pieces is on his card in the car if you want to get a hold of him for the exact specs. Other than that the car is fine. When I last tried charging it with the battery charger it fired right up after charging over night but lost charge over the course of the next few days.
Finally some jerk stole just the face plate to my stereo while the car was parked out front of my house, so you will need to get a new face plate or head unit.
Over all this car is a sweet deal a lot of time and work went into it. Its not the original motor, or transmission. I'm the third owner of this vehicle. It comes from NC and was owned for 40 years by the same man who bought it as project then the guy decided to turn it into a daily driver and never touched it. I had all the work done (except motor and tranny) in NC. No body work has been done to the car because it was in such great shape when I found it. Its a project that I just won't be able to finish all the way. Make a sweet hot rod or an awesome low ridder.
Wheels have less than 6000 miles on them, motor has less than 7000 on it and tranny less than 4000.
This is a really nice car hate to see it go but I'm moving and won't have room at my new assignment.
Please serious inquires only.
