1965 Chevrolet Impala

For sale is my grandfathers 1965 Chevrolet Impala wagon.My grandfather passed away 15 years ago and my grandmother kept his beloved Impala in the garage. My dear grandmother passed away this last year and we have made the decision to part with this piece of family history. This vehicle was purchased by my grandfather new at A.B. Smith Chevrolet here in Portland in 1965. The vehicle is still displaying its original license plate frames. The odometer shows 13,817, unknown if it is 100k or 200k on the motor. This is the very rare 396 motor and even rarer 396 Chevy Imapala wagon.

My grandfather used this vehicle in his later years as a maintenance vehicle so it shows it wounds of war. Paint is on a lot of the back from paint cans being used on a daily basis. Much of the rear interior side panels show wear. The rear seat is almost brand new as it was almost never exposed. The second row seat was always stowed forward protecting it from all the tools and working materials giving him more storage area. He had a heavy duty carpet installed in the much of the rear so much of the rear floor is also in excellent shape. The headliner also in great shape. The front seat has a bench seat cover installed that also kept the front seat mostly protected. Overall, much of the interior is in pretty good shape. The exterior, white over blue, has dents, paint drips on most of the panels and will need some tender loving.

This vehicle has so much potential for the right buyer. It has lots pluses. A very rare model, A 1 owner, a local car, 396 motor. The vehicle has not been started in 13+ years and would need some fluids.My grandmother did go out and start it every month and let it run but after a few years stopped. It ran perfectly up untill my grandfather passed awayand started up for almost 2 years after that. I have no reason to think there is anything wrong with this motor other than it would need serviced. The tires are flat and would need to be towed on a flat bed.
