This is an incredible time capsule that only comes along extremely rarely. This is a one-owner, 100% rust-free, southern (Alabama) Impala that is as close to showroom perfect as you will ever find. The only non-original appearing items on the entire car are the battery and a more modern AM/FM stereo. It is documented by its original sales invoice (dated 10/1/63), original buildsheet, original owners manual, a newspaper article about the car and its owner, as well as pictures of the car and it's original owner when he bought it new, and in 2014. It still wears its original 1964 Alabama license plate and original selling dealer metal frame. For those seeking an immaculate, mint example of a factory showroom stock Impala V8 coupe, you will not do better than this car.
Drivetrain: Completely original, matching numbers 283/195hp V8, 2bbl, powerglide automatic, optional 3.36 rear axle ratio, and power steering. All were rebuilt/refreshed when the car was restored approximately 15 years ago. Engine bay very clean and detailed. It's so original it still has only single exhaust! Car has been driven sparingly since restored. It starts, idles, runs, drives, and stops like it did when new. No known mechanical issues.
Body and Paint: This is a totally rust-free original bodied Impala, with all of its original body panels, floor pans, trunk pan, and frame. It is super straight, with no dents, dings, rust, or other body or cosmetic issues. It is a correct Tu-tone code 952 paint scheme, as shown on the car's buildsheet and trim tag. That's Bahama Green Metallic on top, and Meadow Green Metallic on bottom. Paint is excellent, professional, smooth, with a deep gloss much better than when new. The dark green metallic on top is especially nice and captivating in bright sunlight. All chrome, stainless, and aluminum trim and brightwork is in excellent, like-new condition without exception. All glass is near perfect, and all windows roll up and down easily, fully, and smoothly. It wears dealer-installed fender skirts (with the extra chrome), and also comes with the original, painted fender skirts it had when new. The original wheel covers are the nicest you will find, and it sits on a new set of period-correct 14x6.5 Goodyear polyglas whitewall tires.
Interior: The olive green two-tone interior is in mint condition in every way. The padded dash top was replaced during restoration, but the original pad was saved and is included with the car. Receipts show the original owner bought factory-original OEM upholstery material from SMS Auto Fabric, and a large sample of extra vinyl is included with the sale. Seats are full and comfortable. Carpet is new, and includes high-end matching floor mats in same color with bow-tie emblems. Headliner and visors are perfect, as are door panels, armrests, rear middle speaker, package shelf, etc. All interior lights work, as do the gauges, horn, wipers, lights, and signals. Doors open and shut perfectly.
Trunk: Trunk is just as immaculate as the rest of the car. Correct spatter paint, multi-piece trunk mat, plus matching Goodyear polyglas spare with jack. Underside of trunk lid was also repainted when car was restored, and has original jacking instructions sticker. Car also comes with a complete second jack assembly.
