1949 Chevrolet Styleline Deluxe

This is a restored 1949 Chevrolet Styleline Deluxe Sport Coupe. It has the sliding rear windows rather than the roll down rear windows. This vehicle has a 350 ci motor with a 4bbl carb and a Turbo 350 automatic transmission. It has Oldsmobile Rocket valve covers and a Cadillac air cleaner. Both are black with pinstriping, The valve covers have chrome looms that are also pinstriped. It has shorty headers attached to Porter Steel Pac mufflers and working lakes pipes. The exhaust has been run through the frame so if you choose to install air ride it will lay frame. The battery is mounted in the truck inside a toolbox. It has a fuel tank that is less than 4 years old. It has an aluminum radiator and a transmission cooler. It has a Mustang II front end with 2" drop spindles. The rear has 3" lowering blocks. The floorpans are rust free and replaced the rotted parts. The inner and outer rockers have been replaced. The lower door halves have also been replaced. The trunk has been replaced and the spare tire well cut out. The wheels have been powder-coated a color as close to House of Colors "Blurple" that we could find, It is metallic and is neither blue or purple, Kind of a mix. It has bias ply 3" wide whites, The fronts are Cokers and the rears are Continental. It has spider caps on the steel wheels. It has Briz aluminum ribbed bumpers. It has frenched '39 Ford taillights with blue dots. The vehicle has been nosed and filled, Originally a two piece hood, Now filled and made into a one piece with all emblems removed. The beltline has been molded removing all chrome and welded all holes, Not just wiped with bondo (90 holes for the beltline). The trunk latch has been shaved and filled in. The door handles have been removed and bearclaw latches and Auto-Loc poppers were installed. The rain channel has also been shaved. The wipers have been removed and welded closed. The windshield has been cut out and replaced with an Oldsmobile 1 piece windshield. All glass except for the rear window has been replaced with new glass from Bob's Classic Auto Glass and is tinted. The rear window is in great shape so I just had it tinted to match the rest of the windows. All chrome has been removed from this vehicle except for the spear between the vent window and full window. The interior was just done over the winter. It is black and white vinyl with 2 different grains. The carpet is black. The doors are the same black and white vinyl with coves. All door handles and window cranks have been replaced with new. The dash has been filled and smoothed. The vehicle is painted John Deere Blitz Black paint. It is 7.2% gloss. There is no clearcoat on the paint. This paint is what John Deere uses on their mowers and farm implements. It is a heavy duty paint and is also a rust inhibitor. The grille and dash are painted gloss black. It has a Lokar shifter, I believe it is 23". This vehicle is all steel and no filler was used to shape and form. It was sprayed with Durachrome to smooth the vehicle before the black paint was applied. The bad parts of the car... The rearend is stock except for the lowering blocks, I was going to put air ride on it but would rather start another project, So this should be addressed at some point. The inner fender on the passenger side has a hole in it from where the previous owner had the battery and needs a patch panel. The only gauge that works is the speedometer. The oil, temp, volt and fuel need hooked up. I would drive this vehicle anywhere and trust it completely. I have taken it to several out of state shows and travelled at highway speeds comfortably.
