1942 Chrysler Crown Imperial C37 8 passenger Convertible!

This is believed to be the only 1942 Chrysler 8 passenger convertible/parade car in existence. Like with all US manufacturers, Chrysler plants were converted to supply for the war in 1942 and almost no civilian car production took place.
This car was customized by the famous Derham Body Company of Rosemont, PA.

According to Derham factory records Chrysler build just 151 eight passenger limousines from which only 3 were built into convertibles and of those 3, only one as a “roofless” parade car. This is the only open 8 passenger parade car known to exist.

It is truly a unique car with an exciting history. From 1967 to 2004, the vehicle was owned by the Anderson family, owners of the world famous Ponderosa Ranch theme park in Incline Village, Nevada. The vehicle served as the limousine transporting wedding parties and guests to the Ponderosa Ranch chapel for weddings held at the ranch. Period photos and documents are in the folder. The Ponderosa Ranch is of course the home of the Cartwright’s from the famous Bonanza TV series.
The car is mainly in un-restored condition and still shows really nice. The paint, chrome and stainless is still in good condition. The current owner has done some mechanical service to the car including new brakes, shocks and a rebuild carburetor. It runs and drives very well. The famous “Spitfire” 323 L-head Inline eight is running smoothly and moving the big car with ease.

The interior shows nice, the seats have been redone once. The mileage of 68312 appears to be original.

This is a very rare piece for the serious collector.

Please study all the photos closely to evaluate the condition of this car!
