2006 Ford 3V Saleen S281

Since 1964 Mustangs have been available with a long list of options, from economy-car power trains to muscle cars and Rally Pacs to tissue dispensers. Carroll Shelby upped the ante with his line of performance Mustangs. Even more rare than Shelby’s Mustangs are the Saleen Mustangs. Built, certified and serial numbered by Saleen with the company's own blend of performance, comfort and styling options, these are the last word in Mustang exclusivity. Saleen started with a regular Mustang GT and rebuilt improving every aspect of the car. The 4.6L engine-management computer has a Saleen Powerflash recalibration, Saleen center-exit exhaust, Saleen under drive pulleys and a harmonic damper to arrive at Saleen's 330hp rating. The stock transmission was retro fitted with Saleen's short-throw shifter and the 8.8 inch rear end has 3:73 gears. The base price was $42,281 for the 3V coupe. Ford's standard GT brakes supply for the Saleen's go but this one is fitted with the S281 package which consists of 14-inch front brakes and cost $2,055. You will also notice that this is optioned with Saleen’s own high intensity discharge (HID) head lights for both the high and low beams which cost an additional $1,080. This one is finished in a spectacular Legend Lime with the Charcoal Leather interior and is 1 of only 2 produced in this color combination. It has been optioned with a set of 20” Foose 3 piece Speedster chrome rims as well as 2 Kicker 10” subs powered by a 2200 watt amp. This incredible example has less than 17,000 miles and looks like it just left the showroom. It includes a copy of the original Saleen window sticker which shows an even $50k for this rare beauty along with the letter to the original owner from the Saleen Owner’s Registry. If you’ve been looking for a clean Saleen you will be hard pressed to find one in this shape with these options for what we are asking.
