Other improvements for the 39 model included a larger frontal area for the radiator to improve cooling to the 221ci 85hp V-8 and the engine was upgraded with larger bearings and a heavier crankshaft that now drove the engine fan. All Deluxe models received sleek new frontal styling as well as a much higher level of trim.
