As a 24-yr. old graduate student at UCLA, I bought a new 1971 F-250 Camper Special; now as a retired Biology Professor, I have decided to sell my old friend of 40 years and 106,000 miles. Service records are available. Most of the time this truck had a camper sitting on it; for over 20 years it has worn the Custom Topper in the pictures. After we bought a new 1997 Dodge 3500 the Ford has had limited use. This one-owner, low- mileage truck runs good and is in great condition, with no mechanical problems. It has always been well maintained (for instance, the oil has been changed every 3000 miles). As the pictures show, everything is original and the bed is not dented, because it has not been used for hauling. The body has a few minor dents, but there is no rust. This is an exceptional restoration candidate.
The NADA high retail price is $18,000 (see http://www.nadaguides.com/Classic-Cars/1971/Ford/F250/3-4-Ton-Styleside/Values ...and then select the 360 8-cylinder engine under options)
My price is $9500.
