428 CID V8
This 1968 Ford Fairlane 500 is or sale in our Detroit showroom. This beautiful bit of Detroit muscle is ready to cruise or show at the local car scene. The bright red paint is in great shape and the black vinyl top looks new. Inside the 1968 Fairlane 500 are leather seats from a 2005 Mercury Montego. The front bucket seats are power adjustable, and the back seat will fold down if additional room is needed. A set of SunPro gauges monitor Oil Pressure, Water Temperature and Voltage. For your listening enjoyment, an AM/FM radio with CD player has been installed in the dash. Under the hood, you will find the stuff of legends, the infamous 428 Cobra Jet engine. The horsepower rating, from the factory, was always believed to be on the low side. These 428 CJís would give Chevelle owners fits, as they seen the tail lights of these old Fordís. To insure the rest of the drive train survives, a C-6 three speed automatic has been mated to the 428 engine, with a Ford 9 inch rear end to insure the power gets to the ground. The Ford 9 inch rear end is considered to be one of the toughest rear ends ever produced by the Big 3, and it has a set of 3.91 gears for rapid acceleration. To make sure all go can be brought to a halt in a hurry, the Fairlane has Power Brakes.
