1966 Ford Mustang 2+2 |
|
My weekend cruiser, a 1966 Ford Mustang 2+2 Fastback with numbers matching. This is considered by many to be a rare classic pony car with far fewer made in 1966 than in 1965. This is the third 66 Mustang I have owned (the other two were coupes). I have owned it since May 2006. The car was purchased from a gentleman in LaGrange, KY (3rd owner). According to the data plate it was an original Kentucky car, having the Ford Kentucky plant code. It has many desirable options including, automatic transmission, power steering, electronically restored rally Pac, full floor console and wood-grained steering wheel. Since purchase I have replaced the exhaust manifold along with the entire exhaust system with a Flow master, renovated the electrical wiring system, replaced the old kick panels with new ones and speakers, new rear speakers mounted on rear seat panel (back) for easy removal if desired. I also replaced the interior door panels and window regulators. The tires are less than a year old (less than 1,000 miles on them). The battery is also new (purchased late last year). It is a NAPA original type (24F) that fits securely with the clamp on the fender mounted bracket.
As with any 43 year old car, this one has some minor imperfections such as minor body rust coming through the paint around one of the wheel wells and along the bottom edge of one of the doors and rear window molding. The interior is in great condition with the exception of some minor scratches on the original rear wheel well covers (not enough to consider replacement, though).
Overall, this car is what NADA calls “Average Retail” and is valued at $19,040.00. My reserve is somewhat less than that. Please contact me if you have any questions. My cell number is 985-320-9797.
