1964½ all original Ford Mustang Convertible. VIN#: 76AR2614H5316 and serial#: 5FO8AZ261535. It was passed down from my grandfather over twenty years ago, when he bought it as the second owner from a friend. The car sat un-driven at his farm in Pomona, KS and about 5 years ago, he brought it to Kansas City to become a show car with all of the car’s unique qualities. It has since not only been included in many shows but award winning from the beginning.
It was first constructed on Aug. 14, 1964 in Kansas City, MO. It is the original Ivy Green color with black vinyl front standard bucket seats, black vinyl throughout and black trim interior. A new white convertible top was put on along with new tires and a new coat of outer paint to help slicken up the looks of the power convertible. Proving the cars power, it has a 289 cubic inch “A” code V-8 and automatic transmission that were both rebuilt in 11/07 by Lindan Motor’s in Merriam, KS who specialize in classic and antique vehicles. This work was done only because the car hadn’t been driven for so long since the odometer shows 05411 miles. After the work was done, again the car remained garaged except for shows or a monthly test drive to keep it rejuvenated.
