From its inception in the early 20’s Ford’s Model T’s have been hot rodded and customized. In the 1950’s Norm Grabowski created a T-Bucket named Lightning Bug which has led to countless replicas and similar T-Buckets being built. This particular example retains its original truck body that was turned into a roadster. It also retains its original frame and the original front suspension which was lowered by reversing the spring and the front brakes were converted to disc brakes. The spring was chrome plated, it was upgraded with chrome torsion bars and steering knuckles. The rear end has coil overs, a chrome differential cover and matching chrome torsion bars. The heart of the beast is a performance built 400ci small block Chevy with big heads topped with Larsen Engineering 2-piece valve covers. It is sparked by a Delco-Remy electronic ignition, it is fed by a 650 cfm Holley carb and sounds just plain nasty ripping through its open headers and side exhaust. Power is put to the 12 bolt posi rear end via a performance built Turbo 400 tranny. The interior was redone in 2020 with a tuck and roll black that extends as a tonneau cover over the rear of the vehicle. It has matching door panels and new black carpeting with a sweet red bench that really pops. It has been nicknamed TAZ with Tasmanian Devils and the word TAZ painted on both sides. There is no clear coat on it so these could be easily removed if so desired. We estimate that it is putting out close to 400hp which makes for huge power to weight ratio. All said and done well over 15K was spent building this beast which didn’t account for the labor or the cost of the original vehicle itself. We have priced it to move quicker than it goes so you better contact us right away if you like what you see!
