1987 Jaguar XJ6 Vanden Plas

1987 was the last year for the traditional XJ6. The series III model has long been regarded as the most beautiful of modern day Jaguar sedans. Most of these cars have been used up, modified, and have deteriorated to an unusable state. Our example is the exact opposite. This is a well-documented, extremely well-maintained original example. The quality of this car is amongst the top of any surviving series III XJ6's. It is extremely rare to find one so well preserved and so well-maintained.

Originally sold in Hempstead, New York this Jaguar it was brought down to Naples, Florida for winter months use. This two owner example is void of any rust or corrosion. Believe to be all original paint and interior it is a strikingly beautiful motorcar. The Silver Birch exterior is absolutely beautiful as is the original Doeskin leather interior.

This car recently won first in its class at the Gold Coast all British car show this past February in Boca Raton, Florida. It was also Judged this past November at an official Jaguar club Concours de'Elegance. At the Jaguar show it scored an impressive 997.5 out of 1000 points. Mechanically it is sound enough where it can be driven daily.

As with all of our cars, this Jaguar received a thorough inspection by the Jaguar Doctor in Boca Raton. Prior to our purchasing it, it had received extensive maintenance that included:

Front and rear brake calipers
Front and rear brake pads
Cooling fan clutch assembly
New AC line
Front wheel bearings
New steering rack
New AC compressor
New AC receiver dryer
New alternator belt
New AC belt
New power steering belt
Oil and filter change
Transmission fluid change

As a result of this extensive prior service, we did not have to do very much to get this car ready for sale. However we want to make sure everything is correct so we performed:

Installed left front window wiper
Replaced transmission spool
Install new air pump belt and tights in existing belts install new air pump belt and tights in existing belts refinished exhaust heat shield
Center the steering rack
Perform wheel alignment

No expense has been spared on this car throughout its life. And it is clearly evident when it is driven. Examples like this are exceedingly rare. And this one is one of the finest available.

This being the Vanden Plas version of the XJ6 it had additional features of the standard car. Those features include:

Smooth leather bucket cheap seats front and rear
Rear seats are separated by the armrest with an Integral cubby box
Simulated lambs wool rugs for three passenger foot well's
Cross banded wooden inserts on all door waste rails
Puddle lights on all door armrest to illuminate the flooding in worn on coming motorists of an open door
Rear seat reading lamps which operate automatically when they removed from the rest position
Vanden plas emblem on rear decklid
