Up for sale in our Detroit showroom is this head-turning 1976 Jeep CJ-7. Taking its roots from the military-spec Willys Jeeps used in World War II, the CJ, or “Civilian Jeep” was available to the public as a more refined version of the stripped-down model our soldiers used. This ’76 Jeep has been heavily modified to handle anything you could ever throw at it, and with plenty of off road-oriented modifications, this Jeep is just as capable in the wilderness as it is on the pavement. The first thing you’ll notice on this Jeep is the fiberglass body with the wild paint job. Underneath the lightweight hood, you’ll find an AMC 401 CID V8 topped with a 750 Holly Double Pumper carburetor, flowing through Jet Coated Hooker Headers, which exit out of dual side pipes which produce an unforgettable rumble! All that tire-shredding, ground-shaking power is routed through a TH400 automatic transmission, going through the Dana 30 front end and Dana 60 in the rear, with 4.56 gears and ARB Air Lockers. Getting all that power to the dirt are 33x14.5 Mickey Thompson Baja Belted off-road tires, mounted on 15-inch Mickey Thompson wheels. What this all amounts to is the ability to conquer the most rugged terrain you can find, whether its rocky trails, bottomless mud pits, or steep sand dunes! If the trails ever manage to bring this nimble Jeep to a stop, one quick pull from the Warn winch, rated for 7,000 pounds, will get you back in business. The interior of this off road beast consists of comfortable seats, with 5-point Summit Racing harnesses to hold you in place when the terrain gets rough. Directly overhead, and going all the way down to the frame is a 6-point roll cage for added safety. Whether its having some fun on the road, or forging a new trail off the beaten path, this Jeep is sure to get plenty of attention wherever you take it! Options on this Jeep include: power brakes, power steering, 5-point seat belts, anti-threft system, vinyl interior, and aluminum/alloy wheels. Also included with this Jeep are removable doors, canvas tops, a cover, plenty of spare parts, and a huge stack of receipts to document the build. To check it out in person, visit our Detroit showroom, or call (313)-982-3100 for more information. HD pictures and video can be found on our website at www.GatewayClassicCars.com
