This Jeep is a real eye-catcher and you can expect to get all kinds of questions and attention when driving it around town. It needs a good home from somebody that doesn’t mind spending the appropriate time to care for it and keep it running well.
The only things I know of that are wrong with it are: a non-working gas gauge and just recently the headlights and stereo have stopped working. I haven’t looked into this, it may just be a matter of changing the fuses. Since I’ve owned it, it has had a ping while accelerating. My mechanic told me that it was in need of a throw-out bearing. Door locks do not work as well.
It runs very well and is reliable to get you from A to B. It is 36 years old however and has all the rattles that you would expect from a vehicle this old.
I bought this Commando from a father and son who had it as a project vehicle to restore. I know that over years they have put a lot of time and money into reviving this classic.
