1954 Jeep M170 Military Jeep (G-758) |
|
M-170 Military Ambulance and Radio Truck
This Front Line, 1/4 - ton, 4X4 was a variant of the M-38A1 military Jeep, with its body lengthened by 20 inches, heavier suspension, and provisions for three patients on litters. The spare tire and jerry can of the M-170 were mounted in the body tub next to the passenger seat. Other differences from the M-38A1 include interior lighting, fender well storage compartments, crash pads, and a tailgate.
The M-170 was also outfitted as a radio truck and a few for other purposes. A total of 4,155 of the M-170 model were produced from 1953-1963.
This particular M-170 is in excellent condition and was roughly valued at $17,500 by Gary R. Bennett of Barrett Jackson Classic Cars, due to its condition, the total number ever produced, and its availability today.
