1965 Lincoln Continental 4Dr Convertible For Sale in our Chicago Showroom. This 65 Lincoln has the N code 430 Cubic Inch V-8 engine with a Carter 4 barrel carburetor, that has a compression Ratio of 10.00:1, horsepower: 320 @ 4600 rpm, and torque: 465 lb.-ft. @ 2600 rpm. The transmission is the Turbo-Drive 3spd Automatic Transmission, and the rear axle is the 2.89 option. Options on this Continental Convertible are power windows (not working), 6-way power seats (works only 2 ways), A/C (not working but complete), power locks, hubcaps, leather interior, power convertible top that functions properly as well as trunklid setup, factory spare tire cover, 15 inch factory wheels, factory gauges, clock, and AM/FM factory radio. The convex 1962–1964 grille was replaced by a flatter, squared-off one for the Lincoln Continental in 1965. The car was given front vented disc brakes to improve stopping distances. For the first time, parking lamps and front turn signals were integrated into the front quarter panels instead of the bumper. Taillights were fitted with a ribbed chrome grille on each side. With the facelift, sales improved about 10%, to 40,180 units. An oil pressure gauge was added. Front seat belts with retractors were now standard. This Lincoln weighs 5,475 lbs! The Continental was America's only 4-door convertible provides the interior space and comfort of the 4-door sedan with the ease and luxury of an automatic convertible. Along with its four center-opening doors and the largest rear passenger compartment of any convertible made. Convertible tops came in black, white, blue or tan. Production was only 3,356 of these convertibles! 1965 would be the final year for the body style introduced in 1961. External styling changes were highly visible this year, and included front fender-mounted parking lights and ribbed chrome trim on the taillights. The 1965 models are considered by many to be the best of the series. 1965 was the first year for: Ventilated front disc brakes, Factory vinyl roof option fender-mounted parking lights, ribbed chrome trim on taillights, Transistorized Ignition option, Emergency Flasher option, and Spare Tire Relocation Kit option.
