1960 Mercedes 190SL Roadster |
|
This magnificent two-seater roundbody Cabriolet was built in 1960 and was the subject of a total restoration to authentic condition in 1989 by Marque Specialists Rose & Young. This involved a back-to-bare metal rebuild of the bodywork which was refinished in Light Ivory finish, with new chromework. The whole interior was replaced using Red Connelly hide in place of original leather cloth, square weave carpet and a genuine Mohair hood. it has been rarely used since having enjoyed a pampered existence, it’s fastidious former keeper even sent it back to the bodyshop recently for a fresh £10,000 Concours paintjob– understandably it still looks completely as brand new! The interior is perfect with all of the dashboard chrome elements painstakingly restored to original order. The engine bay is also properly detailed to show standards.. The specification incorporates the desirable extra transversal emergency third seat fitted behind the front seats. Only a few of the rare right-hand drive factory 190SL's survive and are consequently highly sought after. Offered with owner's manual, Swansea V5C registration document (in my name) and current MoT certificate and Free Road Tax to Oct 09. This world-class example will satisfy the most demanding enthusiast. A good opportunity to acquire one of these beautifully designed and rapidly appreciating antique Mercedes, a real Grade A investment (according to Sport Car Guide of America)
