1968 280 SL Mercedes Sports Coupe with detachable roof and manual built in canvas roof cover. B.C. Collector Vehicle plates B50-745. Brand new in June 1968 and has been a one family vehicle ever since. First Owner, my Father June 1968 July 1986. Second registered owner, my Mother July 1986 � May 2001. Third registered Owner, myself, May 2001 � to date. 2018 will mark its 50th birthday. My father, being a Mechanical Engineer bought our 280 SL (new in the world of fuel injection) for my Mother on February the 14th 1968. It was a fine valentine�s gift, to be received on July 1st 1968 four months and 15 days later out of Germany to become the first 1968 280 SL received in Canada. Believe it or not, my father sold his mint condition 1956 Chevrolet to replace it with this 280 SL in its place. It wasn�t all that bad; I still get to be in Car Shows, but not entering with a local North American vehicle. Only 47,000 miles. Silver exterior with Blue interior. 4 speed manual transmission. 6 cylinder engine.
