The G-Class was originally introduced as a military off-roader by Mercedes-Benz in 1979. It is characterized by a boxy style, body on frame construction and is noted for using 3 different locking differentials. Currently in its 43rd year of production the G-Class is one of the longest produced vehicles of any manufacturer. The second generation G-Class (W463) was launched in 2018 with minor design changes.
