1977 Mercedes-Benz Unimog Riot Recovery Vehicle For Sale in Humble, Texas 77346

If you are someone who lives life to the extreme than you owe it to yourself to check out this 1977 Mercedes-Benz Unimog Riot Recovery Vehicle! This multi-purpose all-wheel drive truck is ready for anything life throws at it. Powered by a 352 Inline-6 diesel engine that is paired with 8-speed transmission, including four low gears in reverse and four high gears in forward, this beautiful beast has two Power Take Off units both of which are 2-speed. Other advantages include four wheel drive with differential lock and a roof mounted solar panel with voltage regulator to maintain battery box charge.

This Unimog Riot Recovery Vehicle features a strong, industrious styling that encompasses a very limited model. Built in 1977, it is Texas titled and registered as a Mercedes-Benz Unimog 416/U1100, with the 416 being the longer version of the 406. It comes equipped with four doors, which is characteristic of less than five percent of Unimogs. The cab offers seating for five with two bucket seats and one bench style seat. On the front end is a Schmidt front loader type FL-4 which is operated from the steering column. On the back it has been outfitted with a Hiab 650 Crane that is operated from the control center, located on top of the crane, and there are four outriggers that offer stability while the crane is in use. There is a hydraulic cable winch (Werner H68 HR1 HW 0116M) as well as a hydraulically lowered blade, located on the back to stable the truck during winching, that is also operated from the steering column. Top it all off with a plethora of tools, located inside the bed, such as a tow bar for aircraft, jack, new spare tire, outrigger platforms, and a pulley for use with the crane and winch, among other tools.

This Unimog is a true military vehicle that was owned by the German government until purchased by its current owner. The original military green paint was painted over in its current shade of blue that represents Technisches Hilfswerk (Technical Relief Organization), a German emergency management agency that utilizes Unimogs by fire departments and municipalities as utility vehicles. It took nine months for this vehicle's current owner to find it. With the help of Unimog dealer, Atkinson Vos Ltd (http://www.unimogs.co.uk/), the truck was located in Germany and trailered to the Dealership's location in England. It went through a 150-point inspection; minor repairs were done and spare parts were purchased before being shipped to Galveston, Texas in 2013. All records are complete and up-to date from this truck's original factory purchase. In fact, the maintenance record book alone is over three inches thick.

This 1977 Mercedes-Benz Unimog is highly valuable because you won't find one another one in the entire US. It lives up to the reputation of its nameplate by being very dependable and worthy of getting you into those hard to reach places. This truck has been used as an emergency vehicle for most of its life and has been housed like a fire engine, which has enabled its great condition. It is almost impossible to find one of these trucks with a rust free cab, such as this one! With only 35,231 miles (56,700 kilometers) you can rest assured that this Unimog is ready to tackle the rigors of even the most demanding lifestyle or job. Don't miss out on this rare opportunity!
