1937 Nash Lafayette 400

For sale is a 1937 Nash Lafayette Model 400. Has only 32,890 original miles. (It may have a few more miles on it when purchased because I drive it to local car shows). All numbers on the odometer line up perfectly. Flat head 6 cyl engine. 3 speed freewheeling transmission with overdrive. Runs excellent! Drives excellent! Doesn't smoke at all! Gets up to 28 MPG on the highway. Has great overdrive gearing that allows for easy freeway driving. Original color. 4 door with suicide doors in the back. Original upholstery. Has 4 nylon tires, which will probably never wear out, (that's why they don't make them anymore). Regular rubber spare tire. All windows, doors, and locks work perfectly. Huge trunk. All wood is in excellent condition.
Paint does has some scratches and a few scrapes but it still shines up great. Chrome looks good, but not perfect. Upholstery has a few rips and tears but is mostly intact and looks great for it's age, some fading & discoloration, but it is the original, close to 70 year old, upholstery. Original jack not included.
Had a frame off restoration done on it in the early 70's. Had a couple of small holes in fenders that were professionally leaded, no bondo!! Professionally painted with 18 coats of original colored lacquer. Had front seat belts installed in the early 70's due to laws at the time.
In 2005 it had all the brake cylinders and the master cylinder professionally rebuilt. - New original style rubber floor covering installed. New running board covering installed. - New battery.- Also had a cracked side window replaced, a new windshield seal installed, and a new muffler and tailpipe.
Very solid well built car that's been very well taken care of !! Starts great even at 20 below zero!! Car has been started every month since the early 70's and has only been driven in the spring/summer/fall since then !! Has never been driven in the snow since the early 70's !!
