1951 Packard 250 Convertible
Here is a beautiful Packard 250 convertible from 1951. Riding on an immense 122” wheelbase, this is a fully restored car that is both solid and reliable. The paint was refinished in its factory Packard color of Corona Cream and carries the look and appearance of a concourse finish. Signature design cues for Packard’s 250 series included chrome trim moldings across the front fender into the door and jet-inspired louvers on the rear. The immense grille on this Packard shines up front while the graceful Packard pelican rides on the hood. Competing the sleek and elegant look are fender skirts, which were standard on the 250 series. An added bonus was that Packard’s low and sleek look made for a car that looked great with its convertible top up or down. The interior is fully restored and carries all the luxurious attributes for which Packard was known. Finished in deep red, seating is large and comfortable with soft leather while the dashboard typifies the jet-inspired look of the 1950s. Power for this Packard comes from its 327 cubic-inch Thunderbolt straight 8 mated to the three-speed manual column mounted transmission. The engine compartment is nicely detailed and the giant 8-cylinder engine is a marvel of engineering. This fabulous car has been driven a mere 537 miles since its restoration.
Packard was just beginning to show the signs of trouble that would lead to its demise as it crossed over into 1950. In fact, the only convertible Packard had was in the 250 line. This beautiful 250 Convertible represents a significant chapter in this great company’s history and all this one needs is a new owner and the open road.
