1970 Plymouth Barracuda
I have a chance to pick up the Orange T/A I posted about a week or so ago, and hence the 1970 Barracuda is up for sale. It is an original 318, auto, bench seat car. (now has buckets) Factory red over black car without vinyl top, ever. It has been a Tennessee car most of its life and is very solid. It is also a complete car and comes with most items required to make it a 340 Cuda clone. It has a good Cuda hood, factory Cuda rear valance (and regular valance), AAR aftermarket spoiler, 14 inch rallys, Auto console with slapstick shifter mechanism and plate. The car is complete including a fantastic un-cracked grille and nice headlight buckets. (I've seen these alone go for $1,500 on ebay!) It also has all glass and window trim including the rear glass that is out of the car.
Engine, it has a very very strong 340 4bbl engine with a 727 auto trans. Both are in great shape. Non sure grip rear. It is also a factory A/C car with all parts in place minus compressor.
Body is very solid and will be an easy car to get straight for paint. The front fenders, aprons, core support, cowl and rails are all in great condition without any rusty areas. The passenger floor pan has surface rust on the inside but looks very nice from the bottom looking up. All undercoating has been removed. The original trunk floor is decent and usable but to make it a real nice car you may want to put one in. It also looks great from the bottom looking up. The left quarter has been replaced with an aftermarket unit and has not been finished. The right quarter is original and will need some patching but not replacement. The doors are fantastic. The car is sporting only its second paint job ever. Decklid is nice but not perfect. Both bumpers are straight and it has all brackets and rear bumper guards but they will need rechrome to be nice.
Interior will need to be redone. Door panels and rear side panels are very nice. Seats will need to be redone and headliner too. Dash has the usual cracks and has a dash cover on it.
If there is no haggleing I will throw in a nice raly dash unit to go with the car.
This is a nice, unmolested barracuda with a solid body and would make a great platform for your dream Cuda, Hemi clone or AAR.
