Up for sale is one of the most iconic muscle car's ever created, the 1968 Plymouth Road Runner. High performance and low cost were Plymouth’s design goals for a brand-new model in 1968. The company believed that the time was right for a factory hot rod for the youth market, and its guess was right on the money. It would have the macho name of Road Runner. It was also a very "B Body" budget-friendly machine which made it another very important reason for purchasing. A member of the Belvedere line, the Road Runner for sale came with a stock 383cid engine making 335 horsepower. But that was just the beginning, the awesome 440 monster MOPAR engine would find its home in this Plymouth for sale. Making just shy of 450hp, the big block is equipped with 62CC cylinder heads with big valves. A .480 lift MOPAR purple camshaft replaced the old stock one. A Performer RPM intake and very large Demon carburetor found its self nestled on top this fire breathing bird. The killer power plant is backed by the world famous TorqFlite 727 3 speed automatic. A 3500 stall converter and shift kit transfer's all the power to a 8 3/4" rear end. This MOPAR for sale is rolling on staggered Chip Foose 18" wheels wrapped in high performance Z rated tires, making sure this Road Runner stays planted at high speeds. Stopping this Road Runner for sale at high speeds in stock form would have been a feat, but with the owner adding big disk brakes, its definitely not a problem now. The interior on a '68 Plymouth for sale was basic: a no nonsense bench seat and no carpeting - just rubber floor mats. The main attraction was a base price of $2896. That just wasn't going to work in the builders opinion, so a gorgeous set of PRO-CAR seats were installed, along with black carpet to finish off the look. Option's on this muscled Road Runner for sale include; Power steering, seat belts, A/C, heat, AM/FM/CD, vinyl seat, aluminum alloy custom chrome wheels and performance radial tires finish out this list of fantastic features on this Pro Touring inspired 1968 Plymouth Road Runner for sale!
