1971 Pontiac Grand Prix |
| The original Grand Prix debuted in 1962. The '63-'64 model years were the second generation, '65 to '66 were the third, 1967 and 1968 were stand alone model years (so they would be the fourth and the fifth generations respectively) and the '69 through '72 models were the sixth generation . A new integrated bumper/grille and larger single headlights replacing the quad lights of 1969 to 1970 models marked the introduction of the 1971 Grand Prix along with a new slanted boat tail style rear with taillights built into the bumper. Interior revisions amounted to new trim patterns for cloth and vinyl upholstery patterns for both the bench and bucket seats. This car is equipped with a strong running 400 ci V8 with four-barrel carburetor and dual exhausts, rated at 300 hp. The Turbo 400 transmission still shifts effortlessly. Variable-ratio power steering was made standard equipment as well. Additionally this car has power brakes, power windows, tilt steering, remote driver’s mirror, an AM/FM stereo and factory A/C (not working). This is a solid car that shows great and drives just as good. With just over 94,000 original miles this numbers matching classic is sure to be a solid investment!
