You are looking at a 1979 911 all steel wide body with boxed rockers and rear brake vents. It was set up for P.C.A. DE events and high performance road race driving instruction. She has a 3.2 Ltr. Engine sporting RSR style Mhale pistons and cylinders @ 10.5 :1 CR premium fuel only. Valve relief's cut for the solex road race cam shafts.
Custom timing gears and machine work to attain proper deck height for CR and chain housing height. 46 IDA Weber Carburetors top off the engine as does a re-curved distributor to match. The car has 22 mm and 27 mm torsion bars front and rear, H/D
Shocks, 8x16 and 10x16 Epsilon Alloy wheels with street tires installed for street use.
The car has been lowered and weight balanced for optimum cornering performance.
Racing brake pads have been replaced with high performance street pads. The paint is a 3 footer but shines nicely (see photos) and since the car was used on road race and autocross courses it would have been impractical to paint her. If you want a perfect street car I would throw a paint job on her. If you are going to use her as a PCA or DE car then I would address a few small areas as needed. Clutch is fresh and trans shifts as a 915 trans should with a short shift installed. The interior is good but if you want her perfect you might want to replace the leather dash pad as it has shrunk around the center ac vent(see photo) if you do, replace it with a vinyl pad as it will not shrink. The front seats are MOMO racing seats, the racing belts have been removed and street belts installed.
The car has not been used as a PCA DE car for the past four years and has been garaged
and has been driven and run once and a while to keep her fresh. Car has been detuned a bit to run on street gas. It is also emission exempt due to its year..
The car runs out fine and is very quick and handles like it is on rails and the sound of the Weber's at wide open throttle is music to any Porsche aficionado . Of course the car turns heads if that is your thing but it is a fun ride and is at home on the road course, auto X course or street. Car has a/c but I never used it and I would say it needs to be charged and checked out if you want to use it. Also an alpine stereo with two amps under the seats that I did not use and needs to be hooked back up if you wish. Sun roof works as it should....Hate to sell her but I do not use her anymore. Someone I am sure has the time to enjoy her as I have. My wife will also be glad to get a spot for her SUV in the garage...
