1966 Shelby GT 350 |
This Shelby now been registered with the Shelby Registrar. It is now known to be one of the lowest mileage drivable Shelby's in existence.
It has had only three owners since its existence. The vehicle was in an accident 3 months after it was purchased new from the The Marshal Motor Co. in Mayfield Hts, Ohio on 6/10/66. The vehicle was bought by the second owner in this damaged condition and sat for approximately 30 yrs. The second owner replaced the two front fenders and rear quarter panel . The full fiberglass hood was replaced many years ago at the time of its renovation in 1968. And finally, a light skimcoat of laquer was sprayed on . Other than those items, what you have here is a totally complete 8600 mile Shelby. There is absolutely positively no rust anywhere on this vehicle. Guaranteed!
You can find pictures of the Shelby tag. Pictures can be found of the inner rear fender air cooling inlet, original Shelby disc brakes, suspension and the original Shelby owners manual with the Ford manual. Which has the Help sign on the back. All can be found at this website. ( 2 pages)
Price 65,000. Offers considered
This vehicle is one of the lowest mileage drivable Shelby's in existence.
Pictures are taken with and without the original Shelby tag. As stated, the second owner replaced the two front fenders years ago. As you can see the fender also does not have the original K-Code imprint in this area. Replacement panels do not have this imprint and the original tag was installed strictly for the ebay auction pictures. Please don't forget .... This is not an out of the showroom vehicle or a perfectly correct museum piece. It has been in an accident 3 months after it was new, repaired in 1968 and sat for approximately thirty years in a garage.
Finally, we were told by the gentleman who renovated this car in 1968, that Shelby recalled all the original Master cylinders because they were defective. This car has the original Brake cylinder and was never changed. Speculation tells us this may be the reason this car was in an accident three months after buying it new. This is some proof that this car has never been driven. With further inspection, one will be able to see the original Shelby disc brakes with no wear. It truly is a time capsule.
