1965 TR4A in excellent shape. Family owned since 1980, personally owned since 1994. It does not have IRS or overdrive options.
This is not a perfect show car but a REAL car, perfectly suitable for daily driving. The car has been driven very little in the last 10 years, though it has been driven every week and maintained. I have all the records of things I have done.
Exterior: I painted the car in 1997 and it has been garaged since then. The paint and chrome are in excellent shape, but there are a few dings and scratches that I have touched up. The wheels have been dipped and are rust free. There is no rust that I can see other than a little surface rust in engine bay. Body fits reasonably well but is not absolutely perfect. Car was originally red. You can thank my uncle for that! Tires are near perfect. I would estimate they have less than 3000 miles on them and no cracking. Top is in great shape as well.
Interior: The interior is in good shape and not store-bought. Seats, steering wheel, gauges, dashboard and rear panel are original. Wheel well covers, ebrake cover and carpet are new. I did the dash myself with mahogany veneer and a buddy of mine that does high-end finishing finished it.
I also had a pro build me the trunk kit because I didn't like what was available for purchase. Came out beautiful.
Mechanical: I have the transmission rebuilt and I replaced all the wiring myself with a complete harness. My buddy and I built our own fan shroud years ago out of aluminum so it will not break apart like those cardboard ones you buy. I just put a new brake master on last year. I have purchased various covers/parts for the engine bay.
Overall, this has been a great, reliable driver, as well as a looker.
I have some spare parts, mostly trim pieces and touch-up paint (real lacquer). I have also ordered and paid for CA legacy plates. Additional pics upon request.
